The Philippine currency is called the Philippine peso (or piso, or PHP).  

And the PHP looks like this 👇

How much is a Big Mac in Tokyo?   
                                             How much is a Big Mac in Davao?  

 

In Davao, a Big Mac is 148.00 PHP or 319.38 JPY
In Tokyo, a  Big Mac is 390.00 JPY or 180.73 PHP

In English, we have two kinds of nouns: countable nouns (可算名詞; kasan meshi) and uncountable nouns (不可算名詞; fukasan meshi).

In Japanese, nouns (名詞 meshi) don't really change in grammar.  But in English, nouns can be tricky.  Today, with your MKD tutor, you are going to study the differences between countable nouns and uncountable nouns.  Have fun, and ask many questions to your friendly tutors!


This is an useful chart showing the common mistakes with countable/uncountable nouns.  You can study it with your tutors if you want.  Or you can ask your teacher, too ;-)

Please check the local weather forecast (天気予報 tenkeyohō) for Wednesday and the rest of this week. You can tell your tutor about today's weather forecast, and the forecast for Thursday, Friday...

Also, please review some more difficult vocabulary to describe the weather. Here are 10 words you can review before your lesson:

• muggy: humid, sultry (蒸し暑い mushiatsui)  
• breezy: slightly windy (さわやか sawayaka) 
• damp: wet (湿った shimetta)  
• scorching (weather): very hot (weather) 灼熱(の天気) shakunetsu (no tenki)  
• drizzly: rainy (a light rain) (ぬるぬるした) nurunuru shita 
• hazy: misty, foggy, overcast (もやもや) 
• a downpour: heavy rain, raining heavily (土砂降り）doshaburi  
• rainy season: wet season (梅雨) tsuyu  
• chilly: cold (肌寒い) hadasamui 
• freezing: very cold (とても寒い) totemo samui
