- muggy: humid, sultry (蒸し暑い mushiatsui)
- breezy: slightly windy (さわやか sawayaka)
- damp: wet (湿った shimetta)
- scorching (weather): very hot (weather) 灼熱(の天気) shakunetsu (no tenki)
- drizzly: rainy (a light rain) (ぬるぬるした) nurunuru shita
- hazy: misty, foggy, overcast (もやもや)
- a downpour: heavy rain, raining heavily (土砂降り)doshaburi
- rainy season: wet season (梅雨) tsuyu
- chilly: cold (肌寒い) hadasamui
- freezing: very cold (とても寒い) totemo samui
